Polishing Stones
The stones used to create tadelakt must be very hard and be cut and polished. These stones come from a river near Marrakesh.
A malêm uses and safeguards his or her stone with care. A good stone can last a very long time.
You need to learn and interact with each stone that you use. If you do not get its “feel” or do not hold it properly, you can damage the surface of the tadelakt.

The tadelakt is polished in circles until no more humidity appears on its surface.
About six hours later, the polishing is repeated with black soap.
